malcom madsenIf you’re looking for “totally unique” you will find Malcom’s presentation of mind-seizing objects astonishing. He dedicates his life energy to taking the perfect designs of nature and presenting them in powerfully expressive artwork. These tantalizing pieces of jewelry are created by taking impressions of actual insects, mammals, reptiles and parts of their skeletons then casting them in Sterling Silver! Many are adorned with semi-precious stones and some also have movable parts. Malcom hand-finishes each piece he creates and believes that in so doing, the loving energy he commits flows from him to those that wear his art. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Malcom has been pursuing the expression of his life-long fascination since 1978, when he began Silversmithing. He has great respect and concern for nature and uses only found, recovered or donated specimens from places he has lived such as the tropics, New Mexico and Vancouver Island to diverse people such as children digging up bones on the beach to University Professors contributing treasured skeletons. His high quality workmanship is eccentrically amazing; a challenge to your imagination.
