Youth Art Display

Call for Young Artists

The Youth Art Display is one aspect of the Festival that has been developed to encourage children’s creativity and nurture budding interest and skills in the Visual Arts.  Each year, a specially designated area is set aside within the Festival to display the work of young artists for the duration of the Festival.  The objective is “to provide a venue for children and youth (aged 6 to 12 years) to share their two and three dimensional works of art with a larger audience in a non-competitive environment”.

Young artists are invited to participate in the 2017Buckhorn Fine Art Festival’s Youth Art Display.  What we seek is any expression of creativity, consisting of artistic works in 2 or 3 dimensions, in any medium.

As our display space at the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival is somewhat limited, please consider the scale of your work prior to submission – if a piece is too large, we will be unable to display it.   (As a guideline, please measure the artwork: the perimeter (width + height) x 2 should not exceed 60”.)  Art work for the Youth Art display should be unframed, and can be mailed or delivered by hand to the Buckhorn Community Centre, 1782 Lakehurst Road, P. O. Box 280, Buckhorn Ontario, K0L 1J0 for arrival during the first week of August.  All items should be clearly marked on the back with the artist’s name and contact phone number and labeled “Item for Youth Art Display”.

For more details, call 705-657-1918 (toll free at 877-300-9766).

Submission deadline is August 4, 2017.
