SPECIAL EVENTS
Art Competition (age 13-19, adults and seniors)
This competition provides an opportunity for Ontario teenagers
(13-19 years), adults and seniors to display their artwork at
an Ontario recognized Art Festival, while learning from the experience
of being judged by a panel of professional artists. Ribbons are
awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the categories Teenage, Novice
and Open, in addition to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of four mediums
in the Hobby category. The art entries in this competition are
displayed at the Festival.

Art Display (Age 8-12)
This event was initiated
in 2005 to encourage the next generation of artists by providing
an exciting opportunity for children and youth (age 8-12) to
display their art in a prestigious environment. These art entries
are displayed at the Festival.

Grand Opening and Art Preview
Be one of the select group
to see and purchase the “new releases” first, enjoy
musical entertainment and delicious snacks while strolling around
the park. View the exhibits while enjoying punch. Wine and beer
available for purchase in the Food marquee. The ticket price
includes re-admission into the Festival during the entire weekend.
Advance tickets are available for $12.00 per person from the
BCC.
We will hold a draw for two opportunities for visitors to win
$100.00 worth of “Lucky Bucks” on Preview Night.
These “Lucky Bucks” must be used to purchase art
and will hold no cash value. The winners will have the entire
duration of the Festival to redeem these “Lucky Bucks” towards
the purchase of their choice of art.
Other draws for merchandise and prints will take place throughout
the Festival.
A Family and Friends Watercolor Painting
Workshop is available
this year with Julia Conlon, one of our exhibiting artists. No
experience is necessary. All supplies are provided for the duration
of the workshop, including a mat for your finished masterpiece,
and a binder with step by step instruction. The class will hold
16 people, designed for youth, teens and adults. The total cost
is $48.00 and includes admission. This workshop will take place
on Sunday August 17, from 11 am. to 1 pm. First come, first served,
so contact us in advance to secure your spot.
Throughout the Festival, you can view special presentations
by exhibiting Artists on a variety of interesting topics.
Flight shows with free flying birds of
prey
On Sunday
August 17, 3 entertaining and educational shows during the day
featuring at least 5 different Birds of Prey, some of the most
fantastic creatures on our planet, and their continuous role
in our natural world. Sponsored by TD Friends of the Environment
Foundation.
